This is a maternity cover position commencing end August 2012. Role In this key role you will have budgetary and strategic responsibility for Italy and Co-edition sales. You will manage Lonely Planet’s Italian publishing partner and work with them to drive growth and oversee strategic development of the Lonely Planet brand in Italy. You will be responsible for the Italian partner editions of LP print products, B2B deals and website. You will have full responsibility for Lonely Planet’s global co-edition business. You will be responsible for: - Setting and achieving budgets for Italy and co-editions, targets broken down into different result areas as appropriate. - Managing the Italian partner publisher relationship, establishing strategy for growth and developing their publishing programme. - Working with Italian publishers to develop appropriate business plans – including marketing, publishing and sales, B2B and digital – to grow sales of Lonely Planet products in their territory. - Print quality of the Italian partner translations, approving cover selection and liaising with Design department as appropriate. - Keeping the Italian publisher informed of LP’s company strategy where relevant as well as publishing and marketing strategy and working with key departments in LP to facilitate sharing of tools. - Managing day-to-day communication with French partner – answering editorial queries, managing cover selection, gathering publication schedules. - Approving marketing material for French partner. - Developing strategy for growth of LP’s co-edition business and work with LP departments to develop appropriate products for co-edition sales. - Achievement and monitoring of co-editions budget and margins. - Sales, pricing, production and delivery of co-editions globally. - Liaising with Print Production team to ensure smooth fulfilment and delivery of co-editions. - Liaising with Foreign Rights, Asia regarding co-edition sales in Asia to ensure they are informed of any co-editions happening in their market. - Selling non-guidebook rights across EMEA to non-partner publishers.
